CARMIGNANI, ALESSANDRO (b 1961 )

Alessandro Carmignani was born in Pisa in 1961 and studied at the Cherubini Conservatory in Florence. His particular expertise in Baroque repertoire was developed under Fosco Corti, adding to his tenor register that of countertenor. He made his operatic début in Handel's opera Rinaldo in Pisa and has since then enjoyed an international career, with appearances at major festivals and important centres of music throughout Europe and a distinguished list of recordings.
