BRENTANO STRING QUARTET

The Brentano String Quartet, formed in 1992, received the first Cleveland Quartet Award and was presented the Naumburg Chamber Music Award in 1995. The Quartet tours widely, appearing in prestigious venues throughout the United States and Canada, in Europe, Japan and Australia. The Quartet is named after Antonie Brentano, whom many scholars believe to have been Beethoven’s mysterious “Immortal Beloved”, and to whom he wrote his famous love confession.
