BARONE, CLEMENT

Clemente Barone (Sr.) (1877-1934) was born into a family of musicians. He first joined the Philadelphia Orchestra as 3rd flutist and piccolo player at the age of 22. In 1907 he became the orchestra's principal flutist, a position he held for 4 years. In 1911 Barone accepted the position of studio flutist with the Victor Talking Machine Co. orchestra, which he kept at least until 1928.
