PALMQUIST, DAVID M.A.P (b 1979 )

David M.A.P. Palmquist (horn) was born in 1979 in Copenhagen. He is first horn soloist in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra / DR after previous engagements with the Odense Symphony Orchestra, the Danish Radio Sinfonietta and as third hornist in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra / DR.

David Palmquist studied at the Carl Nielsen Academy of Music in Odense and the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where he made his debut from the soloist class in 2002. Since 2004 he has been studying in the soloist class at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover with Professor Jan Schroeder.

He often appears as a soloist and has been an active chamber musician as a member of the wind quintet Carion since 2002 and the brass quintet Art of Brass Copenhagen since 1999, both of which have won several prizes at Danish and international chamber music competitions in the course of the last few years.
