Elizabeth Sellars
The Australian-born violinist Elizabeth
Sellars made her concerto début at the age of thirteen. She studied with David
Takeno at the Guildhall School of Music and has been a multiple prize-winner
in competitions including the 9th Concorso Musicale Internazionale
Riviera del Conero in Italy and the Royal Overseas League in London. She has
performed in festivals throughout Australia, South East Asia and Europe including
the Berlin and Melbourne Festivals and has appeared at the Wigmore Hall, and
at Londons Southbank as group soloist with the Philharmonia.
She broadcasts regularly on Australian
national radio and recorded previously with Len Vorster for Naxos on the critcially
acclaimed De Falla (8.554498) and Stravinsky (8.554367) CDs. She recorded the
Berkeley CD on a Eugenio Degani instrument made in 1876.
