FELDBAEK, EVA Eva Feldbæk
Eva Feldbæk was a pupil of the famous Danish interpreter of
Bach and Buxtehude, Finn Viderø. Further organ studies followed with Finn Reiff,
and piano studies with Elisabeth Klein, one of the leading interpreters of contemporary
music. Since 1973 she has been organist at the church Vestkirken in Ballerup.
Eva Feldbæk plays many concerts, frequently of new music, and has played often
on Danish radio. She has commissioned and premiered many new works by Danish
composers, including works for organ solo and chamber music involving the organ
in unusual combinations, such as Axel Borup-Jørgensen's Winter Music
with percussion, Svend Hvidtfelt Nielsen's Catafalque with harp, and
Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen's Octopus for two organists (all recorded
on dacapo 8.224018). Starting in 1987, Eva Feldbæk has several times a year
performed J. S. Bach's Die Kunst der Fuge in its entirety.
