BOU, FELIPE

A graduate in law in 1990, the Spanish bass Felipe Bou furthered his vocal studies with Antonio Blancas and Alfredo Kraus. He is a laureate in a number of competitions, including the Julian Gayarre in 1992, the Juventus Musicales and Francisco Alonso in 1993, the Monserrat Caballé-Bernabé Marti in 1995, the Eugenio Marco, Ciudad de Logrono, Jaume Aragali, Ville de Toulouse and Alfredo Kraus in 1996. He made his début in Bilbao in 1994 and has undertaken major rôles in operatic repertoire throughout Spain. He made his début in France in 1998 and in Germany the following year, appearing in Rome as Angelotti in Tosca with Luciano Pavarotti in 2000. His career continues to take him to leading opera houses and concert halls throughout Europe.
