SAEIJS, FREDERIEKE (b 1979 )

The Dutch violinist Frederieke Saeijs studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with Mauricio Fuks. She was awarded the First Grand Prize Académie des Beaux Arts, as well as four special prizes at the Long-Thibaud International Violin Competition in Paris in 2005. Her triumph has led to performances in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Russia, Scotland and the United States. As a soloist she has performed with the Arnhem Philharmonic, Hagen Philharmonic, New Japan Philharmonic, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, St Petersburg Philharmonic and The Hague Philharmonic, collaborating with conductors Jonathan Darlington, Neeme Jarvi, Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi, Friedemann Layer, Christoph Poppen, Vassily Sinaiski and Jaap van Zweden. She plays the Ex-Reine Elisabeth violin by Petrus Guarnerius (Venice, 1725), kindly lent to her by the Dutch National Musical Instrument Foundation.
