Graeme Kay, narrator
Graeme Kay is a writer and broadcaster on music. After completing a degree
in modern languages and law at Queens' College, Cambridge, he joined Scottish
Opera to work on public relations and fundraising. Following a ten-year career
in arts management, he switched to full-time journalism and broadcasting, becoming
editor of Classical Music, Opera Now and BBC Music magazines. A member of the
Critics' Circle, he continues to write features and reviews for The Scotsman,
Opem and Choir and Organ magazines; and he is a monthly columnist for Japan's
leading music magazine Record Geijutsu. Graeme created the foundation course
on Opera at Work for the honours degree in Opera Studies at Rose Bruford College,
where he is a consultant and tutor. His broadcasting work has encompassed writing
and presenting over 200 weekly music programmes for BBC Radio Solent; now based
at BBC Radio 3 in London, Graeme works as classical content producer for Radio
3 Interactive, and as a network continuity presenter.
