KIM, HYUN-SUN Pianist Hyun-Sun Kim made her debut concert in 1997, sponsored by the Chosun Newspaper in Seoul, Korea. This successful concert led to performances throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. She has appeared as a guest artist with the Ewha Orchestra and the Seoul Arts Orchestra, and she has been broadcast live by Vermont Radio, Ulsan MBC Radio of Korea, and Korean Christian Broadcasting in New York.
As a chamber musician, Ms. Kim has performed with artists such as violinists Alexia Eichhorn, Friedman Eichhorn, Alejandro Mendoza, and Bin Huang. She has participated in the Seoul Youth Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music Series, the Killington Music Festival, and the Holland Moon Beach Chamber Music Festival. Ms. Kim is the recipient of the Arthur Gold and Robert Fizdale Scholarship; the Ryoichi Sasadawa Young Leader Fellowship Fund Scholarship; the Shendell Scholarship; the Elaine Labert Yearly Prize; and the Janice Dana Spear Memorial Scholarship.
Ms. Kim has received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the Ewha Woman's University, with highest honors in performance, and her Master of Music Degree from the Juilliard School. As a William Petschek full scholarship recipient, Ms. Kim is pursuing her Artist Diploma with Jonathan Feldman at the Juilliard School. Her other teachers have included Kyung-Mee Lee, Mi-Jae Yoon, Margo Garrett, Samuel Sanders, and Kenneth Merrill.
