BANG, IN-JU

In-Ju Bang

The remarkable young pianist In-Ju Bang was born in Seosan, in the southwest of Korea, in 1990. From her early childhood, she had shown considerable interest and talent in music, but had little opportunity for musical study in her hometown. Her early schooling in a relatively rural area allowed her to attend church concerts, listen to records, and play various sports. At the age of eleven she entered the Music Academy in Seoul, where she started intensive training in music with Soo-Hyun Yoo. Subsequently her exceptional musical talent brought triumph in numerous national competitions and she has given many recitals and concerts throughout Korea. In 2004 she won first prize in the Puigcerda International piano competition in Spain, and from 2006 she will be studying at the Juilliard School of Music in New York.
