MAUGER, JACQUES

Jacques Mauger (trombone) studied at the Regional Conservatoire in Rouen and later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. After winning prizes in Markneukirchen in Germany and in Toulon he began his professional career as first trombonist in the Nice Philharmonic, then became first trombonist in the Or-chestra of the Paris Opera. Since 1990 he has concentrated on his soloist career and has often performed in and outside France with ensembles ranging from string and symphony orchestras to brass and concert bands, and has given re-citals with piano and organ accompaniment. Many com-posers have written works and arrangements for him. Jacques Mauger works as a teacher at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris/CNR and at the Accademia Internationale Superiore di Musica "Lorenzo Peroni” di Biella in Italy. He has held master classes in Flaine and Nice, in England, Japan, Korea, Spain, Germany, Swit-zerland, Holland, the USA and South America.
