BOWMAN, JAMES (b 1941 )

James Bowman, alto layclerk at New College in the early 60s, has premiered Oberon in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, been equally at home in the early music revival of the 60s and 70s, and participated in countless recordings. He is recognised throughout the world as pre-eminent in his field.
