FILSELL, JEREMY (b 1964 )Jeremy Filsell is one of only a few virtuoso performers on both the piano and the organ. He has appeared as a pianist in concertos and in recital throughout Europe, Russia and the United States.
He has recorded the solo piano music of Goossens, Howells, Johann Eschmann, Bernard Stevens and Julius Reubke and more recently, Rachmaninov. Recordings as an organist on the Guild, Signum, Herald and ASV labels have included the complete works of Marcel Dupré and the six Organ Symphonies of Louis Vierne (BBC Radio 3 Discs of the Week in September 2005).
He has served on the jury for the Concours International pour l’orgue in Saint-Maurice d’Agaune, Switzerland and in 2008 was a featured artist at the AGO National Convention in Minneapolis/St Paul MN, USA. An Oxford University graduate, Jeremy Filsell studied the piano at the Royal College of Music and later gained a PhD (BCU) for a thesis examining aesthetic and interpretative issues in the music of Marcel Dupré. He currently lives and works in Washington DC.
