SCHOCH, KNUT The tenor Knut Schoch studied at the Hamburg Musikhochschule and boasts a repertoire ranging from the medieval to the contemporary, with a particular emphasis on historical performance practice of music before 1800. He enjoys an international career that has taken him throughout Europe and America and to Japan, with appearances at festivals including those of Göttingen, Schwetzingen, Paris, and Musica Flandria. He appears regularly in broadcasts and on television, and he has a wide range of recordings to his name. He has collaborated with ensembles such as Musica Fiata Cologne and La Petite Bande, and with conductors including Ivor Bolton, Thomas Hengelbrock, Ton Koopman and Sigiswald Kuijken. A prize-winner in a number of competitions, Knut Schoch has held a senior teaching position at Hamburg Conservatory since 1993 and from 1999 to 2002 was a Professor of Singing at the Hamburg Musikhochschule.
