HYLDIG, KRISTOFFER NYHOLM (b 1982 )Kristoffer Nyholm Hyldig was born in 1982 in Denmark. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with Tove Lønskov and in the soloist class with Steinway artist Niklas Sivelöv. He has been a very active participant in Danish musical life for several years as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist, and has played with several of the Danish orchestras, conducted by Jean Thorel among others, won several prizes and received important Danish grants. He has also recorded sound-tracks, and appeared on screen for Zentropa Films. His teachers include Amalie Malling and Zara Piruman in Denmark as well as Pnina Salzman, Volker Banfield, Pierre Réach, Bengt Forsberg, Malcolm Martineau, Rudolf Jansen, Anne Sofie von Otter and the piano duo Taal/Groethuysen. He has performed several of Messiaen’s works, among his major piano compositions Vingt regards sur l’Enfant-Jésus and Oiseaux exotiques.
