OLDFIELD, LAURA Laura Oldfield was a music scholar at Emanuel School, London, and attended the Royal College of Music Junior Department as a violinist. In June 2006 she graduated in music from Pembroke College, Cambridge. Throughout her three years at Cambridge she sang in Trinity College Chapel Choir under Richard Marlow. She has much experience as an oratorio soloist, with engagements including Beethoven’s Mass in C, Bach’s Mass in B minor and Monteverdi’s Vespers. She has performed Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Stravinsky’s Mass with the Southbank Sinfonia in St John’s, Waterloo, and Bach’s St John Passion under David Hill in Trinity College Chapel, Cambridge. As an opera soloist she has taken the rôle of Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro.
Laura Oldfield is much in demand as a choral singer, regularly performing with professional ensembles including Polyphony, The Sixteen, The Choir of the Enlightenment, and Tenebrae. She is co-founder of the Dmitri Ensemble and Assistant Director of Music at the secondary school Eltham College.
