DALL'AMICO, LUCA (b 1978 )

Born in Vicenza in 1978, Luca Dall’Amico graduated with the highest honours from the Conservatory in his hometown (majoring in trombone, organ and composition) and studies singing with Sherman Lowe.

He debuted at the Arena of Verona in 2003 singing in Carmen under the baton of Alain Lombard, Madama Butterfly (Bonze) and Le nozze di Figaro (Figaro). He has also worked with conductors such as Corrado Rovaris, Carlo Palleschi, Giuliano Fracasso, Lukas Karytinos.

During the 2004 season he sang Don Prudenzio (Il viaggio a Reims) at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro and Morte dell’aria by Petrassi at the Teatro Malibran in Venezia. He also debuted the roles of Haly (L’Italiana in Algeri), Leporello (Don Giovanni) and Basilio(Il barbiere di Siviglia).

In the 2005 season he gained a success singing Don Alfonso/Guglielmo(Così fan tutte) at the Sejong Theatre of Seoul, and in Li finti filosofi by Spontini at the Teatro Pergolesi of Jesi; La forza del destino in Rovigo, Pisa and Modena; L’Italiana in Algeri in Treviso. He also sang Ping in Turandot staged by Katia Ricciarelli in Seoul, with Martinucci e Casolla.

During the 2006 season he appeared in Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro La Fenice of Venice and in La forza del destino in several Italian theatres, as well as Die Zauberflöte staged by Marco Gandini at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. He took part in tour of China with Teatro La Fenice di Venezia singing in La Traviata and subsequently performed in Rigoletto at the Teatro Pergolesi of Jesi.

In the 2007 season he appeared again at the Teatro La Fenice in La Traviata and sang Mustafà (L’Italiana in Algeri) at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. Recently he performed in Macbeth and Saul at the Sferisterio of Macerata, sang Don Apostolo Gazella(Lucrezia Borgia) in Sassari and Bergamo, and in La traviata in Seoul. At the Opera 2001 in Alicante he sang the role of Colline (La Bohème). He recently sang the role of Fiorello in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and the role of Gustav von Aschenbach in Benjamin Britten’s Death in Venice at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. He was in Seoul for Aida and Turandot and at the Arena Sferisterio in Macerata for Tosca.

Luca Dall’Amico just gained the third prize at the Adami Corradetti Competition.

Among his forthcoming projects are Steno in Marin Faliero in Sassari and Bergamo and Colline in La Bohème in Sassari.

As a concert artist Luca Dall’Amico enjoys successful collaborations with various Italian orchestras such as Filarmonia Veneta, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Chorus and Orchestra of Vicenza. His concert repertoire includes the Mozartand Verdi Requiems by, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Stabat Mater, and Dvořák’s Stabat Mater. September 2008
