MCMURTRY, LYNNE Mezzo-soprano Lynne McMurtry has performed with the symphony orchestras of Boston, Charleston, Winnipeg, and Edmonton, among others, and with the Canadian Opera Company, Opera Ontario, Manitoba Opera, Opera in Concert, and at Tanglewood and Ravinia. Her rich, generous instrument and keen musical intelligence have brought her acclaim in a wealth of repertoire, including Bach’s Mass in B minor, Handel’s Messiah, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde. On the operatic stage, her vocal and theatrical versatility has won her excellent reviews in such diverse rôles as Arsace in Rossini’s Semiramide, Olga in Eugene Onegin, Mme. De Croissy in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites, and Lady Jane in Patience.
