BODER, MICHAEL

The conductor Michael Boder was born in Germany and studied at the Hamburg Music Academy before going to Florence, where he worked with Riccardo Muti and Zubin Mehta. He was Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Basle Opera from 1989 to 1993. Concert engagements have included appearances with the Hamburg Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Oslo Philharmonic, Venice, Florence, Paris orchestras, Zurich Tonhalle, NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona and Madrid orchestras, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Bergen “Harmonien”, Dresden Staatskapelle, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Santa Cecilia Rome, and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
