ZEUTHEN, MORTEN Morten Zeuthen studied with Asger Lund Christiansen and Paul Tortelier. He has appeared as a soloist with all the major Danish orchestras, performing contemporary works as well as more established repertoire for cello. Morten Zeuthen has recorded the cello concertos of Danish composers Per Nørgård, Poul Ruders, Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen and Bo Holten. His double CD with the Bach cello suites won the “Danish Grammy” as the best classical release of the year. Morten Zeuthen has appeared with conductors such as Kurt Sanderling, Norman Del Mar, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Jorma Panula. He also performs with jazz musicians such as Chick Corea, Kenneth Knudsen and Palle Mikkelborg. Morten Zeuthen is the principal cellist in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra / DR. He has received several prizes, including Gade-Legatet and Dansk Musikerforbunds Hæderspris. Morten Zeuthen has been a member of the Kontra Quartet and is a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
