PAPATANASIU, MYRTO Myrto Papatanasiu
The Greek soprano Myrto Papatanasiu studied in Salonika, and
in Milan with Roberto Coviello. She was successful in a number of competitions
and was awarded the A. Triadi scholarship of the Friends of Music of the Athens
Megaron Theatre, participating in master-classes with, among others, Claudio
Desderi, Hermann Prey, Franca Mattiucci, Ghena Dimitrova, Renato Bruson, Graziella
Sciutti, and Delores Ziegler. She made her debut at Monte Carlo in 2002 as Carolina
in Il matrimonio segreto, a role she repeated in Turin. She has appeared
in Rossini at the Paris Opera-Comique, and in Vienna, Wiesbaden, and Genoa,
in Salonica in a range of operas from Mozart to Menotti, and in Athens in Richard
Strauss's Die Frau ohne Schatten, among other engagements throughout
Europe. She boasts a wide concert repertoire from the baroque to the contemporary.
