JOHANSEN, NIELS-OLE BO (b 1961 )

Niels-Ole Bo Johansen was engaged by the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Århus in 1989 and since 2000 he has worked there as professor of the trombone. He was a member of the Music Corps of the Prince’s Life Guards in 1980-84, the Music Corps of the Funen Life Guards in 1984-86 and the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra in 1986-00. He formed a duo with the organist Ulrik Spang-Hanssen, the Civil Service Duo, which has given more than 150 concerts in Denmark as well as the rest of Europe. Niels-Ole Bo Johansen is a co-founder of the Århus Sinfonietta and has appeared at the International Trombone Association’s festivals in 1996 and 2003.
