O'MARA, STEPHEN Stephen OMara
The tenor Stephen OMara has had a long and distinguished world-wide
career, with a repertoire that ranges from most of the Verdi and Puccini canon, to Wagner, Mahler, Schoenberg, and Richard Strauss. Beginning at the New York City Opera, where he sang Turiddu, Canio, Foresto, Pinkerton and Alfredo, he made his début in Europe at the Vienna State Opera in Carmen. In the Wagner Operas, he sang Erik, Siegfried, Parsifal, and Sigmund, in Richard Strauss the Kaiser and Menelas. He has sung all over the world, including Covent Garden, the Paris Opéra, Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin, Rome, Genoa, Bologna, Washington, Houston, Mexico City, and Buenos Aires.
