OR, TALIA (b 1977 )Born in Israel in 1977, Talia Or has lived in Germany since 1981. From 1987 to 1995 she took part
in various productions at the Aachen Stadttheater and had her first vocal training with her mother,
Rebecca Or. From 1996 to 2002 she studied at the Hamburg Hochschule for Music and the
Performing Arts, first with Ingrid Kremling and then with Sabine Kirchner. She participated in
master-courses at the Israel Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv and New York (under Joan
Dorneman), as well as in 1999 and 2000 with James Wagner in the Obertsdorf Music Summer and
the Rheingau Festival. In 2000 and 2001 respectively she was a prize-winner in the St Michaelis
Oratorio and Sacred Song Competition in Hamburg, the Mozart Singing Competition and the
International Maritime Competition at Timmendorfer Strand. She made her début as Cherubino in Mozart’s
Le nozze di Figaro in 2002 at the Opera Studio of the Brussels Théâtre de la Monnaie. She completed her opera
diploma in the Forum of the Hamburg New Music Theatre. Talia Or was a member of the youth ensemble of the
Bavarian State Opera in Munich and is a member of the ensemble of the Munich Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
