MIILMANN, ULLA (b 1962 )

Ulla Miilmann (flute) was born in 1972. Since 1994 she has been first solo flautist in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra / DR. At the age of 15 she won gold in the Berlingske Tidende Music Competition. She has a master’s degree from the North Carolina School of Arts in the USA. Prizewinner in 1990 at the international flute competition “Flute Talk” in Chicago. In 1999 she helped to found the Danish National Symphony Orchestra’s Wind Quintet and was a member of the ensemble for some years. She has appeared as a soloist on several occasions, for example with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra. She has received the Rødovre Music Prize, the Jacob Gade Grant and the Artist’s Prize of the Danish Music Critics.
