VADSTENA ACADEMY CHOIR Every summer since 1964 the Vadstena Academy presents unusual works of music drama - unknown operas from earlier periods and completely new works. In the historic surroundings of Vadstena, young professional singers, musicians, composers, conductors, directors, scenographers, costume designers, theatre technicians and young people from the region meet to learn and experiment. Nine operas have been broadcast on television, and some thirty on the radio.
The International Vadstena Academy is one of the most distinguished and longest-running post-graduate training institutions in Europe; virtually every Swedish singer of note has passed through its portals since it was founded in 1964.
