ROME PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA Made up primarily of musicians drawn from the three regular Rome orchestras, the Santa Cecilia Academy, the Rome Opera House Orchestra and the Orchestra Sinfonica della RAI, the Rome Philharmonic Orchestra was one of the capital’s premier freelance film recording orchestras. Between the 1950s and 1990s it made numerous recordings of film and orchestral music, notably by contemporary Italian composers, for the RCA Italiana, Philips, Oscarvox, Melodicon, Campi, CAM and other labels, under several distinguished conductors including Franco Ferrara, Gino Marinuzzi, José Rodriguez Fauré and Pietro Argento.
