VIRTUOSO CELLO ENCORES
|
|
This collection of Virtuoso Cello Encores ranges widely from Bach’s Air on the G string to Shostakovich’s Neapolitan Tarantella from his film score, The Gadfly. Most are transcriptions, in many cases by leading cello virtuosi, of well-known favourites, with original works written for the instrument from Offenbach, the great Catalan cellist Cassadó and the 19th-century Bohemian master David Popper.
