Joaquín Rodrigo (1901–1999) was a prolific composer whose remarkable guitar concerto, the famous Concierto de Aranjuez, brought Spanish music to the attention of a wide international public. Yet Rodrigo deserves appreciation for many masterpieces among his output of nearly 200 compositions. These CDs encompass a representative selection of his music, illustrating the immense variety and quality of the orchestral, choral and instrumental pieces written over the course of a long artistic career.
