DORMAN: Piano Sonatas 1-3 / Moments Musicaux / Azerbaijani Dance |
The Israeli-American composer Avner Dorman became, at age 25, the youngest to win the prestigious Israeli Prime Minister’s Award, in addition to numerous other prizes. His works have been commissioned and performed by the Israel Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta and over a dozen other music ensembles. Dorman’s piano music (including a work written expressly for this CD) reflects the diverse cultural background of Israel, in an innovative fusion of avant-garde, jazz and ethnic elements.
