- The internationally selected cast features one of the leading lyric mezzos in the Rossini repertoire, American Joyce DiDonato as Rosina and German-Italian star tenor Roberto Sacca as her seducer, Count Almaviva.
- The imposing sets by Jean-Marc Stehle and Antoine Fontaine as well as the costumes by Elsa Pavanel provide a mixture of historical realism and fairy-tale fantasy, supporting Serreau¡¦s setting of the story in a Seville that had been under Islamic occupation for four hundred years only to be followed by the rigidity of the catholic church.
