MUNDY, WILLIAM BIOGRAPHY(1529 - 1591)
The overlap between William and his son John Mundy often leaves the origination of works unclear, as they often only carried the name 'Mundy'. William held many important church posts in London, and within Royal patronage. He was obviously influential in obtaining for his son some important posts, John becoming the Master of Music at St. George's Chapel in Windsor, where he worked for 40 year. He was also a composer of a quantity of secular music, including two fine Fantasias.
