GAERTNER, EDUARD

(1862 - 1918)

The Austrian composer Eduard Gaertner is chiefly remembered as the writer of dance melodies that have served others as the basis of transcriptions. The best known of these is the violinist Fritz Kreislers Aus Wien, followed by arrangements of dances made by the great pianist Ignaz Friedman.
