JENKINS, JOHN  BIOGRAPHY

(1592 - 1678)

John Jenkins was one of the foremost English composers of consort music. He was himself distinguished as a lutenist and a player of the lyra viol. In his eight hundred or so instrumental compositions he continues the traditions of William Byrd.
