BREINER, PETER (b 1957 )
Peter Breiner is a Canadian-Slovak composer, conductor, pianist
and arranger. He is known internationally for a multiplicity of recordings,
broadcasts, telecasts and concert appearances. He received traditional European
musical training and studied composition at the Academy of Performing Arts in
Bratislava (former Czechoslovakia) with Alexander Moyzes. He is perhaps best
known, however, for his clever arrangements, including award-winning Baroque
versions of the Beatles and a similar adaptation of Elvis Presley and of popular
Christmas music. He has conducted and appeared as a piano soloist with orchestras
throughout the world.
