CASTILLO, RICARDO  BIOGRAPHY

(1891 - 1966)

Ricardo Castillo studied music in Paris, with harmony lessons from Paul Vidal, returning to his native Guatemala after some sixteen years in France, to teach subsequently at the National Conservatory. His Sinfonieta is neo-classical in style, while in other orchestral compositions he came to explore the early legends of Guatemala.
