GRIMBERT, JACQUES

After winning a first prize, by unanimous decision, as a flautist, Jacques Grimbert continued his musical studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris with Olivier Messiaen, Darius Milhaud, Norbert Dufourcq, Louis Fourestier and Manuel Rosenthal. This was followed by study under Pierre Boulez in Basle. Since 1959 he has directed the choir at the Université de Paris-Sorbonne and in 1975 established the Choir and Orchestra of the University of Paris, nominated in 1976 Director of Music of the Université de Paris-Sorbonne. He devotes much of his time to the direction of the Choeur et Orchestre de Paris-Sorbonne in collaboration with soloists of the greatest distinction and with a wide repertoire of choral and orchestral music.
