FINNISSY, MICHAEL Michael Finnissy has been featured composer at the Bath, Huddersfield, and Almeida festivals, and his works are
widely performed and broadcast world-wide, with a 1999 festival at Harvard University devoted to his music. As a
pianist he is particularly associated with the commissioning and performing of new British work. In 1990 he was
appointed President of the International Society of Contemporary Music, and was re-elected in 1993, in 1998 to be
made an Honorary Member. More recently he was appointed Senior Fellow in New Music at the University of
Leuven in Belgium.
