PASQUET, NICOLAS

Nicolás Pasquet was born in Montevideo and studied in Stuttgart and Nuremberg. In 1987 he was the winner of the prestigious conducting competition in Besancon, which brought him to the notice of many orchestras. He has since had a busy career as guest artist, and is now Professor of conducting at the Musikhochschule in Weimar. Fanfare magazine in the States reviewing a previous release wrote, "Pasquet and his orchestra play with idiomatic identification, showing themselves to be more than the provincial band".
