EDDINS, WILLIAM

William Eddins is the Music Director of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and a frequent guest conductor of major orchestras throughout the world. He was Principal Guest Conductor of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra for five seasons. Engagements have included the New York Philharmonic, St Louis Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has also conducted the Berlin Staatskapelle, Welsh National Opera, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the RAI Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale, the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, and Opéra de Lyon. He also continues his work as a pianist and chamber musician, and regularly conducts from the piano in works by Mozart, Beethoven, Gershwin and Ravel. A native of Buffalo, NY, he graduated from the Eastman School of Music at the age of eighteen, and also studied conducting with Daniel Lewis at the University of Southern California.
