DANISH CHAMBER PLAYERS

Danish Chamber Players

The Danish Chamber Players were established in 1991 and are based at the manor of Fuglsang, frequented over the years by many great musicians and composers. The ensemble consists of nine musicians, and its unconventional composition gives it a sound all its own among Danish ensembles and a unique repertoire which reflects Danish and international music from the Renaissance until today. Experimental music theatre has accounted for several of the ensemble's striking successes, including Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' Eight Songs for a Mad King, Dominick Argento's A Waterbird talk and the world premiere of Niels Rosing-Schow's The Judgement. The Danish Chamber Players perform regularly on Denmark Radio, at The Other Opera and at the Royal Danish Theatre, Copenhagen, and the ensemble is a welcome guest at music festivals in Denmark and abroad. They have toured most of Europe, Australia and Argentina.
