HARTT SCHOOL WIND ENSEMBLE The Hartt Wind Ensemble is nationally recognised for its quality performances and innovative programming. During the past eight years the wind ensemble has given premières of eleven works and has had in residence composers Michael Daugherty, Joseph Schwantner, Joseph Turrin, Susan Botti, Bright Sheng, Michael Colgrass, Joan Tower, Steve Gryc, Robert Carl, David Macbride, Ken Steen and Charles Young. Guest conductors have included H. Robert Reynolds, Frank Battisti, Eric Rombach-Kendall and Tim Reynish. Joseph Alessi (Trombone), Scott Hartman (Trombone), Roger Murtha (Trumpet), Carrie Koffman (Saxophone), Marc Goldberg (Bassoon), Ben Toth (Percussion) and James Jackson (Euphonium) have all been soloists with the Hartt Wind Ensemble. The ensemble has performed twice at the regional College Band Directors National Association Eastern Division Conference and at the organization’s 2007 national conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
