LONDON MOZART PLAYERS Regarded as one of Europe's finest chamber orchestras, the London Mozart Players are renowned for the outstanding quality of their live performances - particularly of the core classical repertoire by composers such as Haydn, Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven. As Britain's longest established chamber orchestra, the orchestra has developed a distinctively dynamic sound; 'a judicious balance between "authentic" and "modern" ' as applauded by The Independent.
The conductor Andrew Parrott is the Music Director, and James Galway is the orchestra's Principal Guest Conductor. The orchestra has also recently appointed the actor Simon Callow as its 'Theatrical Advisor'. The London Mozart Players run an extensive education programme through which they aim to bring live music making to all sectors of the community. There have been tours of the major concert halls both in Britain and abroad, and many critically acclaimed recordings.
The recording of the Vivaldi Four Seasons marks the orchestra's début on the Naxos label.
