TALISMAN

TALISMAN

TALISMAN was founded in 2000 by Anne Harley and Oleg Timofeyev, who decided to join forces and explore the little-known treasures of Russian musical heritage, bringing this music to Western audiences, often for the first time in hundreds of years. Combining their familiarity with Russian language and culture and their acknowledged expertise in historically-informed performance, the artists bring this exquisite repertoire to the modern listener in a compelling and entertaining format. TALISMAN won the Noah Greenberg Award in 2001 and released its first critically acclaimed CD of Music of Russian Princesses from the Court of Catherine the Great (Dorian 93244).
