In a recording career of more than fifty years the Turkish pianist Idil Biret made over eighty LPs and CDs for ten record labels in
Europe and the USA including Véga, Decca, Atlantic (Warner), EMI and Naxos as well as recordings for many radio and television stations
around the world. Idil Biret Archive was established in 2002 with the aim to make available to the public the many recordings Idil Biret
made since she first entered the studios of Radiodiffusion -Télévision Française in Paris at the age of eight. As the copyrights are
obtained old recordings are being released together with her new recordings. The IBA emblem embodies the engraving of an angel by
Albrecht Dürer presented to Idil Biret by Nadia Boulanger with the following inscription: "To my little Idil. Christmas 1959. May the
Angel protect her on the beautiful and dangerous path she has engaged herself in. With all my heart."
