Gold and Platinum Sales for Naxos Sweden Albums

March 9, 2008

Football manager Sven-Göran Eriksson may not ever win the World Cup, but his own compilation, The Sven-Göran Eriksson Classical Collection (8.503135), a three-disc set which includes works by English, Swedish and Italian composers and a history of the World Cup by Brian Glanville (in Swedish), has reached Platinum status with over 30.000 units sold in Sweden.

Other artists who recently received awards are the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra (Gold Record) for their recording of Nordic Classical Favourites (8.557426) and the Stella Chamber Choir (Gold Record) for their recording of summer songs, Om Sommaren (8.570387).

Leif Strand, a Swedish composer and arranger, achieved Gold status with his record of arrangements of Christmas songs, Ett barn är fött (8.570430), recorded by the Jönköping Sinfonietta and Leif Strands Damkör.

Finally, the Lund Student Male Choir's latest album In dulci jubilo (8.570536) won them their third straight Gold Record, following the very successfull Sköna maj (songs about Spring, 8.557994) and Strålande jul (Christmas songs, 8.570305), both released in 2006.
