October 7, 2010

The deClassified Blog Segment will Stream an Exclusive New Recording Every Monday

On Monday, 4 October 2010 Naxos of America launched a new segment on its Portara blog named deClassified with the inaugural release on the brand new Steinway & Sons recording label. deClassified will allow Naxos of America blog followers exclusive streaming to the new releases of Naxos and its distributed label family. Streaming tracks will change every week, giving the listeners an always rotating supply of new recordings to discover. The deClassified tracks will play in YouTube format and will offer pop-up release info and will even suggest places where the music can be purchased.

About the first deClassified streaming track:
Bach on a Steinway marks the first release on the new recording label of Steinway & Sons. The collection of Bach keyboard masterpieces in played on a Steinway Model D, handcrafted in 1980 and specially selected by pianist Jeffrey Biegel for it’s “warmth and wide dynamic range, but also the brightness and bite I was after for Bach.” Biegel’s Bach is further brightened by his own considered ornamentation, giving the repertoire a new approach.
