Naxos & Ondine win Best Album awards in ResMusica’s Les Clefs d’Or 2012
December 7, 2012
Naxos’s recording of Delius’s A Mass of Life did it again by taking home the award for ResMusica’s Best Choral Music Album of the Year. This prestigious award comes only days after its announcement as Choc of the Year by a fellow French publication, Classica magazine. This outstanding recording, featuring the Bournemouth Symphony and Bach Choir under the baton of David Hill, has collected a number of honours including Gramophone Critic’s Choice 2012, Fanfare Want List, Choc de Classica, ResMusica.com Clef du Mois and WETA CD Pick of the Week since its release in June 2012.
Finnish label Ondine is recognised Best Album of the Year for Véronique Gens and John Axelrod’s collaboration in Berlioz’s Herminie / Les Nuits d’été and Ravel’s Shéhérazade. A well-deserved recognition after receiving accolades including Pizzicato’s Excellentia, ClassicsToday.com’s 10/10 rating and a Vocal Recital nominee in ICMA 2013.
Congratulations to the artists and everyone involved!
