Grammy-Nominated Violinist Tackles Kreutzer Concertos

January 26, 2007

From January 8 to 12, Peter Sheppard-Skaerved who won a nomination for this year's Grammy Awards for his recording of Henze concertos, recorded concertos Nos. 14, 15 and 16 with the Slovak State Philharmonic in Kosice.  This recording was the first in a series devoted to the complete concertos of Rodolphe Kreutzer, one of the masters of the 19th century French school of violin playing. Andrew Mogrelia conducted and the sessions took place at the orchestra's regular concert hall, a converted synagogue, famous for its excellent acoustics.
